On the August 13 episode of “The View,” the co-hosts started talking about Harry and Meghan reuniting with the family, amid separating from the royal duties and living in the United States. In King Charles’ first public speech, the new king mentioned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, per Today. This made people believe this was extending an “olive branch,” possibly bringing the family back together. The discussion quickly turned into a small squabble, as Alyssa Farah Griffin believed the short clip of King Charles shooing away the pen tray was “bossy,” saying, “You’re not above helping people.”

“I’m sorry,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, stopping Griffin’s comments. “No. No. He is the king. And that is what kings do.” She then went on to defend her opinion by mentioning that America and England have different governments and therefore different ways of ruling a country. “Americans don’t do that because we all started here as equals, that was the point,” Goldberg added. “In England, that’s not the point, they’re the king and everybody else is them.”

On June 22, King Charles — who was then still Prince Charles — made a small comment when his wife wanted him to be in a picture at a fashion show. “She’s very bossy,” he said jokingly (via Express). Maybe that’s where the “bossiness” that Griffin pointed out comes from.
