Syabira Yusoff loves learning and trying new things, which is evident both in and out of her baking career. Her favorite video game is a World War II simulation game which has allowed her to learn about leadership in the real world (via The Great British Bake Off). Furthermore, Yusoff immigrated to the United Kingdom in 2013 to pursue her Ph.D. but still keeps her Malaysian roots near and dear to her heart. Not only has she lived there for most of her life, but she also worked as a research assistant at Universiti Putra Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia prior to her move to the U.K. (via Linkedin). Her love for Malaysian cuisine and British cooking will be something to look out for in Season 13.
The premiere of this new season has since been delayed following Queen Elizabeth’s passing, but as evident from the Instagram comments on Yusoff’s introduction post, everyone is excited to welcome the cardiovascular researcher to the stage.
