‘We mourn deeply’: King Charles III issues statement after Queen’s death

King Charles III has released a statement following the announcement of his mother’s death.

“The death of my beloved mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of greatest sorrow for me and all members of my family,” he said.

“We deeply mourn the passing of a beloved sovereign and a much-loved mother.

“During this period of grief and change, my family and I will be comforted and supported by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which the Queen was so widely held.”
