Four people were killed and three others were injured after a young man opened fire Memphis On Wednesday, the entire ordeal was broadcast live while doing so.
Kelly, 19, is now in custody after a chase saw authorities desperately trying to locate him while he was uploading clips from his deadly shootings in real time.
A warrant for first-degree murder was issued in the hours before Kelly’s arrest, with a shelter in place eventually lifted after his arrest Wednesday night.
Memphis police confirmed to WMC that Kelly was responsible for several shootings across the city, and also confirmed that he recorded them on Facebook Live. The teenager is accused of shooting seven people, four of whom died of their injuries.

Court records show that Kelly’s criminal history includes attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment of a deadly weapon, stemming from his 2020 arrest. He has also been charged with using a firearm with intent to commit a serious felony.

Reporter Mia Cathel chirp That Kelly is a newly released convict who only served 11 months of his 3-year prison sentence.
Ezekiel Kelly was released in March after being convicted of the less serious crime of aggravated assault. According to Cathel, charges of attempted first-degree murder and felony firearm possession were dropped.
Authorities had initially issued a “be aware” warning about Kelly’s car, which had Arkansas license plates. There was some confusion at first about which vehicle he was driving, with authorities first reporting he was in a blue Infiniti, which later turned into a gray Toyota.
At about 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nick Coulter of West Memphis said Zone 8 News That shooter probably crossed the border into Arkansas. However, just over two hours later, Memphis PD announced that he had been arrested just before 9:30 p.m.

Thursday morning, Police Chief C.J. Davis and other officials detailed the shooting spree, in which Kelly caused at least eight crimes during the rampage.
Authorities said Kelly is charged with first-degree murder, but more charges will follow.
Fox 13 Memphis Reports indicate that at least two shootings were reported as of 7pm, in which one victim was shot at a BP gas station and another woman was seriously injured after being shot on Norris Road near I-240.
Memphis BD said another victim was shot on Lyndale Street.
“People are afraid,” said Attorney General Steve Mulroy. “People are angry. At times like these, sometimes it’s hard for people to know what to do.”
One of the victims who survived is in one area in critical condition. Two others are in a non-critical condition.
City issues remain in order, transit, and schools in lockdown as police try to shoot the fast killer
Just before 8 p.m., the City of Memphis released a statement regarding the shooting, tweeting “If you don’t need to go out, please stay home!”

Similarly, the University of Memphis was closed after the shootings in the Patterson and Southern area, according to Fox 13 Memphis. The school sent out a safety alert, and announced that all doors were closed for safety.
At around 8:30 p.m., MATA transportation officials said buses and trains would also be closed until the gunman was arrested.
Meanwhile, authorities continued to urge everyone to stay home until Kelly’s arrest.
The suspect claimed he shot five people in a Facebook Live video seen by FOX13, in which he appears to be walking into an AutoZone store, aiming a gun at a man before pulling the trigger.
Kelly reportedly hijacked a Dodge Challenger before several law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and arrested him.
Records show Kelly is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning at 9 a.m.
