Aurelio Gallo gets second major blow over emails to Victoria’s Secret model Bridget Malcolm

A music teacher who bombarded Victoria’s Secret model Bridget Malcolm with inappropriate emails has had her teaching license revoked in another Australian state.

Aurelio ‘Bobby’ Gallo was teaching at the prestigious Methodist Ladies’ College in Perth when he bombarded Ms Malcolm with a series of inappropriate text messages and emails.

In August, Western Australia’s State Administrative Tribunal suspended the 53-year-old’s teaching license for 3.5 years for ‘serious misconduct’ – with Ms Malcolm revealing she was the student at the center of the incidents this week.

In the wake of headlines about the case, Mr Gallo was sacked on Saturday as head of performing arts at John Paul College in Logan, Queensland, where he now works.

The Queensland College of Teachers revealed Mr Gallo’s teaching license was suspended on Monday. The reason for his dismissal was not given when seen by Daily Mail Australia.

However, grounds for suspension by the teaching body include posing an unacceptable risk of harm to children or being charged with a serious offence.

John Paul College principal Karen Spiller told The West Australian newspaper she was not aware of any further allegations against Mr Gallo but was under investigation by the school.

“Upon learning of this decision, John Paul College took immediate steps to suspend Mr. Gallo while we investigate this matter further,” Ms Spiller said.

‘Parents and staff were informed of both the … decision and Mr Gallo being sidelined late Saturday evening.’ Spiller praised Mrs Malcolm for bravely coming forward.

Ms Malcolm was a student at Methodist Ladies’ College when her music teacher, Mr Gallo, began ‘fostering a friendship’ with her in 2007.

The top model received emails, texts and phone calls from Mr. Gallo while she was a student and shortly after she finished her education.

They included asking the then-teenager to send him pictures, meet him for dinner and accept his Skype request, according to court documents.

The emails showed Gallo asking for topless photographs from Ms Malcolm after she left the school, signing off his messages with ‘always’.

The 30-year-old model shared an emotional video on social media on Saturday after it became ‘public knowledge’ that Mr Gallo’s teaching license had been suspended in Western Australia.

In a clip shared on Instagram and TikTok on Sunday, Ms Malcolm told her followers she was ‘still in shock’ and ‘processing’ after hearing about the decision from West Australian authorities.

“I don’t really know how to say it, but I’m just going to come out and say it,” Malcolm said.

‘Today it became public knowledge that my high school music teacher lost his teaching certificate in Western Australia for three years.

‘He lost it for serious misconduct against a student while he was teaching them, and I am that student.

‘I have gone back and forth on whether to waive my right to anonymity because I was a minor when this all happened.

“But you know I’m not a minor anymore. I’m still in shock, I’m still processing and I’ve definitely had a lot of emotions today. I’m all over it.

‘I just want to say to my survivors out there: you are not alone, you are stronger than you can imagine and the future awaits you.’

Gallo asked for photographs and complained that he had not received any ‘topless’ in an email sent on February 2, 2009.

‘Glad to hear you are being taken care of and paying attention to people too,’ he wrote.

‘Unfortunately, you don’t always see what you should.

‘The news about spent accommodation was polite [name of another teacher], who proceeded to tell me that she talked to you for an hour and informed me about the topless photos that you obviously didn’t send me!!! Why not, I must ask!’

Gallo sent another email a day later, referring to a special charm he had given her.

“Remember when things get tough, hold on to the special charm I gave you and think of all the special things that bring you happiness – I know it will give you strength,” he wrote.

Malcolm received an outpouring of support on social media for her “courage and bravery” and the model said she would speak more about the case at a later date.

The Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia first received an email about inappropriate behavior from Gallo last March and the complaint was then investigated.

In a document published by the board outlining the decision to suspend Gallo’s licence, it found the music teacher had engaged in ‘grooming-like behaviour’.

The board found that the couple had initially emailed about school matters, but the conversation changed its tone over time.

Gallo sent an email from his personal account asking for the student’s number on July 14, 2007.

He later sent two more emails after Ms Malcolm and a group of students turned up at his property unannounced during the school holidays that same month.

“By the way don’t worry, I didn’t mind the stalking the other day,” he wrote.

‘I’ll try to sort something out with yours [instrument] tomorrow I will tell you how I go if you want.

‘Want to stop by this holiday!! HA HA’

Gallo ended another email with the sign-off ‘love’ and referred to it again in a separate email sent on December 19, 2007.

‘I hope you and your family get some well deserved rest,’ he wrote. ‘I sincerely wish you a safe and holy Christmas and a special New Year.

‘Thank you for the birthday wish – NOT. Love Mr Gallo – sorry I mean regards Mr Gallo.’

Gallo continued to email Ms Malcolm after she graduated and asked to see her when she returned to Perth after moving overseas.

Ms Malcolm went on to become a model, working with Victoria’s Secret in 2015 and 2016 and for Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney.

In another email in March, which Gallo wrote in Italian, the translated message showed him telling Malcolm that ‘it seems very difficult at times to say what I want’.

The board found that Gallo’s actions “constitute serious misconduct that renders him unfit to be a registered teacher”.

It also found he “breached professional boundaries in his inappropriate interactions with the student”.

Gallo admitted the ‘serious misconduct’ and accepted it was ‘inappropriate’.

He denies grooming Mrs Malcolm and has shown ‘insight and remorse’ for his behaviour, the board found.

“The teacher’s actions were out of character and do not reflect his performance or conduct during his career,” the document read.
