Television’s biggest night is here. The 74th Emmy Awards come to us live from Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theater. Saturday Night Live Kenan Thompson serves as our emcee tonight as the show looks to further improve its ratings as it returns to pre-pandemic form.

HBO’s Succession tops this year’s nominations with 25 award nods, including Outstanding Drama Series. Almost every main cast member is up for an award tonight, including Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Matthew Macfadyen, Kieran Culkin, J. Smith Cameron and Nicholas Braun. The drama still faces stiff competition this year from Netflix Play octopus and Apple TV+ Resignation, with plenty of room for disruption.

In the comedy category, we look at a showdown between returners Ted Lasso and the new sitcom Abbott Elementarywith Only murder in the building want to take home a few prizes. When it comes to the limited series category, it’s HBO’s The white lotus against everything Hulu has, inclusive Addicted, Abandonedand Pam and Tommy.
