Remember Rahul Mandal? He won Season 9 of “The Great British Bake Off,” leaving a significant mark on the show with his wonderfully impressive bakes. After his victory, Mandal returned to work as an engineering researcher in Sheffield (via US Magazine). However, Mandal still posts beautiful photos of his delicious bakes on his Instagram account where we can see that his passion for baking has not diminished. An Instagram reel from the official “GBBO” account was posted of the new cast with the accompanying caption: “Say hello to the class of 2022.” Mandal was quick to comment and welcome the new members to the “GBBO” family.
He remarked that he could not wait to meet all of them and see their bakes. He also advised that the new cast cherish every moment on the show: “Your life will never be the same after today. This is an amazing journey, so enjoy every single moment of it.” Finally, Mandal wrote, “All other previous bakers including me are and will always be here for you, to cheer for you, to support you, laugh with you and cry with you.”
Fans were touched, responding, “Rahul is so sweet,” and “You are the sweetest man.” With such an encouraging message for the new cast, we have no doubts that the bakers will flourish with some of their best work.
