Update September 11: The iPhone 14 Pro Max shipping date has slipped to the 18th-25th. October and we have updated the table below. iPhone 14 Pro is 11.-18. October.
It looks like iPhone 14 pre-orders have hit a snag with reports of the Apple Store throwing up errors when people try to get their hands on the iPhone 14 series. On top of that, the waiting times for the new Apple phones have slipped from September to October.
A flurry of tweets have surfaced that people are having trouble getting their iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro orders processed through the Apple Store, even after about 45 minutes of trying. Glitches reportedly affect everything from basic pre-orders to trade-in options. In some cases, the online Apple Store serves redirects with “Page Not Found” messages.

For some, there has been an unpleasant surprise where they end up with more orders when apparently failed orders end up going through. And those who had orders completed have seen their delivery estimates slip from Apple’s stated September 16 launch date for the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. (The iPhone 14 Plus isn’t supposed to arrive until October 7 at the earliest.)
As it stands, it appears that virtually all versions of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are now on backorder until October, meaning that any pre-orders being processed will see phones shipped to customers well after that actual sales date for iPhone 14 range.

That said, having just reviewed a pre-ordered iPhone 14 myself in the UK Apple Store, but not quite buying the phone, I was served the delivery date of Friday 26th September. So in the UK it looks like orders for the standard iPhone 14 are fine.
But go for the iPhone 14 Pro in Space Black and things aren’t as good, with a delivery estimate of October 11 to October 18.
Should all this put you off a pre-order? Well no, as in our iPhone 14 Pro Max hands-on review, content director Mark Spoonauer was suitably impressed with Apple’s new flagship phone.
You just have to be prepared to wait – not a bad thing, as we suggest you hold off until the full Tom’s Guide reviews of the iPhone 14 range are live before making any big buying decisions.
